“I approached Modern Interior Staging Company last fall because I wanted to hire a professional staging company. I was apprehensive at first because Modern Interior Staging Company didn't have any reviews on Yelp or Google Reviews. Initially, I was leaning toward a Denver-based company that was slightly more expensive. However, the Denver company gave off a "corporate" vibe and didn't seem to appreciate the unique qualities of my quiet mountain home. When I first spoke to Elisha Niebuhr at Modern Interior Staging Company, I was impressed by her.  So I called her back a second time and asked if she was still interested in the job. She was, and I am so glad.

From the moment Elisha arrived to assess my home, I was impressed. She was on time, friendly, and dressed stylishly -- a good sign for someone in this line of work. She spent about half an hour talking to me about things like the type of buyer who might be interested in buying the house. She clearly was thinking about how to stage MY home rather than planning to pull generic furniture out of her warehouse. And when I explained the likely buyer --out-of-state couples in their 50s who want to retire in Colorado -- she came up with all kinds of great ideas. She ended up spending about 2 hours at the home, looking around, taking photos and clearly was thinking carefully about how to best present the home. I came away from our meeting knowing that I wanted to hire her, despite the lack of reviews online.

After our meeting, she sent me a proposal. Her furniture choices looked great and the price was better than that of the Denver firm. I immediately signed off on her proposal and sent in my deposit.

Still, I must admit I was still a little apprehensive. Did she really know what she was doing? And was staging really worth it? (I had never hired a stager before.)

Finally, staging day arrived and as luck would have it there was a blizzard in Colorado Springs that day. Elisha communicated with me several times that morning via email as we talked through various options. In the end, she decided to proceed with the staging in the afternoon rather than in the morning as we had originally planned. I wouldn't have blamed her if she had postponed the whole thing, and I was grateful for her efforts to make it happen more or less as we scheduled. I feel she did so because she knew I had already scheduled the photographer to come the following day.

Elisha and I and her movers and her assistant all arrived at the house. I cleared the walkways of snow, said goodbye, and left the house hoping for the best but not really knowing what to expect.

The next day I received an email from Elisha saying everything went well and she was done. And the following day I went to the house to take a look. I nervously opened the front door and peeked inside. I COULD NOT BELIEVE MY EYES. Elisha transformed my vacant shell of a house into a warm, beautiful home. Her choice of furniture, her art pieces ... everything was perfect. I was floored. Truly, Elisha is a star on the rise and someday soon Modern Interior Staging Company is going to be the most successful staging firm in Southern Colorado.

I give Elisha and Modern Interior Staging Company my full and enthusiastic recommendation. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! To borrow Yelp's phrase, Modern Interior Staging Company is "as good as it gets."
